The igloo had its first major set back this week! Friday morning, when I came in, I noticed that part of one of the walls had broken off! It wasn't too big of a shock, but still disappointing. The students have been working so hard on the structure, and had decided not to build up anymore, but it just couldn't hold. That morning, a few students worked on repairing the damage, and Mrs. Biggs' students continued to strengthen the structure after completing their recycled racers in STEM. The igloo engineers have concluded that the igloo cannot support any more weight. They will continue to work on the entrance, and have discussed using other materials to enclose the roof. We will discuss why the igloo was not able to support the weight, and brainstorm changes they would make next year.
