The second the kindergarten students walk through the door, they cannot wait to find out what we are going to do! They are so excited to learn, share, and have fun. Class began with a parade around the lab. The students enjoyed seeing all of the exciting things. As part of the parade, we learned a new song filled with actions. It was a big hit! The end of the day is hard for this age, so we got our blood pumping! Following the parade, Murray from Sesame street helped introduce a new concept to the class. We watched "The Word on the Street", and learned what a challenge is. This year in STEM, the students will work on challenges with their friends, so it is important for the students to understand the meaning. As we discussed the meaning, the students told me a challenge is something that is hard at first. It was also mentioned, that you have to practice to get better. Finally, the students told me something that would be challenging for them, and then they illustrated it. Wow!
