This week, the fifth and sixth grade students were reviewing the scientific method. To review the steps, the students investigated acids and bases. The question the students began with was, what household solutions are acids, and which are bases? To determine the pH of each solution, the students began with a control group. Using the results from the control group, the students determined if lemon juice, Sprite, milk of magnesia, window cleaner, epsom salt, and tap water were acids or bases.
