The kindergarten students are walking through the steps of the scientific method this week. The question is, "What object will travel the farthest when launched from the launcher?" The objects that are being tested are large marshmallows, small marshmallows, cotton balls, and pompoms. The students hypothesized, and voted which object they thought would travel the farthest. Before the students voted, they observed the four objects, compared the sizes, and compared the weight of each. Next, the students tested the objects. As each object was launched out of the launcher, the students measured the distance with their feet, and compared the results. The results of the experiment were...The small marshmallow travels the farthest. Finally, we discussed why this object traveled the farthest.
